| Marion Medical Mission held a wonderfully successful 25th Anniversary Celebration on July 17th, 2010 in Herrin, IL. We had over 50 past and present volunteers attend and over 250 volunteers and other supporters there. The highlight of the day was the Keynote Speech by Tom Logan (MMM President) and speeches by Vyalema Khosa (MMM shallow wells coordinator for Malawi) and Rev. Elisha Mwasakifwa (MMM shallow wells coordinator for Tanzania). |
The event started with a reunion of past volunteers - getting together to share stories and memories. There were videos playing throughout the afternoon - reliving past trips and the introduction of a new "Shallow Wells Video" (on a DVD and on YouTube). Throughout the afternoon, there was a silent auction of African Wood Carvings, Art and Jewelry. After dinner, speeches and thank-yous were followed by a worship service with the sermon presented by Rev. Elisha Mwasakifwa. Music was provided by a Joint Choir from First Presbyterian Church, Marion and Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Marion. The evening was MC'd by Pastor Steve McKeown, Herrin, IL. |
