Projects for 2011!

Shallow Well Results for 2010

In 2010, MMM installed 2,640 wells in Malawi, Tanzania and Zambia, providing clean water to approximately 400,000 people. This brings the total wells installed since 1990 to over 13,500 wells.

2011 Gifts To Marion Medical Mission

100% of undesignated funds received will be used in Africa for Mission Projects we determine have the greatest need.

100 % of your designated donation can go for any of the projects listed below. (Optional: An additional 5% for U.S. Administration is appreciated)

  • Build Shallow wells. $1,000,000 (2500 @ $400 eachHelp build a well.  Every penny counts!
  • Sponsor 3 Shallow Well Program coordinators (Malawi, Tanzania, Zambia) $43,785 (3@$14,595 each/year) 2 need sponsors for 2011
  • Sponsor 20 field Officers, $252,000 @ $12,600 each/year 10 field Officers still need sponsors for 2011
  • Sponsor 1 Functionality/Sustainability Monitor, $13,500 (salary & field expenses) funded
  • Purchase 1 shallow well truck. $46,000. (@$46,000 each) funded
  • Purchase 2 shallow well motorcycles. $11,000 (@$5,500 each) funded
  • Purchase 1 laptop computers and accessories $450 (@$450 each)
  • Capacity Building, Workshops for Village Communities and Sustainability Plan $126,950
  • Licensing of Shallow Well Builders & Supervisors, $26,500 funded
  • Field Officer/Coordinator retreat and monthly planning meetings, $26,450 funded
  • Karonga School for the Hard of Hearing. Teacher house, $12,000 funded
  • Nsambo Full Primary School. Teacher house, $12,000  
  • Nsambo Full Primary School. Admin/Office building, $8,000
  • School supplies, books $500
  • Transportation Scholarships for students to the Hard of Hearing Schools, $3,000
  • Secondary School Scholarships $8,500 ($50 to $300 for a scholarship)
  • Hospital Charity Care & Medicine Supplies $10,000 for five mission hospitals (Embangweni, Ekwendeni, Livingstonia, Nkhoma & Mulanji at $2,000 each)
  • Shipping & freight cost. $2,800
