Shallow Well Results for 2009

In 2009, MMM installed 2,071 wells in Malawi, Tanzania and Zambia, providing clean water to over 414,200 people. This brings the total wells installed since 1990 to over 10,871 wells.

2010 Gifts To Marion Medical Mission

100% of undesignated funds received will be used in Africa for Mission Projects we determine have the greatest need.

You may also designate funds to help cover our administrative costs.

100 % of your designated donation can go for any of the projects listed below.

  • Build Shallow wells. $875,000 (2500 @ $350 each)
  • Sponsor 3 Shallow Well Program coordinators (Malawi, Tanzania, Zambia) $41,700 (3@$13,900 each/year)
  • Sponsor 19 field Officers, $228,000 @ $12,000 each/year 8 field Officers still need sponsors for 2010
  • Sponsor 1 Functionality/Sustainability Monitor, $15,900 (salary & field expenses)
  • Sponsor 2 Capacity building Field Officers, $23,000 (@$11,500 each/year)
  • Purchase 2 shallow well trucks. $80,000. (@$40,000 each) funded
  • Purchase 6 shallow well motorcycles. $33,000 (@$5,500 each) funded
  • Synod of Livingstonia, Church of Central Africa Presbyterian. $14,910 (For monitoring the 2010 shallow well program).
  • Synod of Nkhoma, Church of Central Africa Presbyterian. $7,017.50 (For monitoring the 2010 shallow well program).
  • Evangelical Lutheran Church of Tanzania, Konde Diocese. $7,297.50 (For monitoring the 2010 shallow well program).
  • Synod of Zambia, Church of Central Africa Presbyterian. $7,017.50 (For monitoring the 2010 shallow well program).
  • Purchase 8 laptop computers and accessories $3,600 (@$450 each)
  • Capacity Building, Workshops and Training for Village Communities $131,320
  • Licensing of Shallow Well Builders & Supervisors, $25,500 funded
  • Teacher Training & Workshops. $500
  • School supplies, books $500
  • Transportation Scholarships (Embangweni School for the Hard of Hearing), $1,400
  • Secondary School Scholarships $6,800
  • Hospital Charity Fund $5,000 for five mission hospitals (Embangweni, Ekwendeni, Livingstonia, Nkhoma & Mulanji at $1,000 each)
  • Hospital Medicines. $5,000 for the purchase of pharmaceuticals for five mission hospitals  (Embangweni, Ekwendeni, Livingstonia, Nkhoma & Mulanji at $1,000 each)
  • Shipping & freight cost. $1,300
